Personal spending growth in the United States rebounded in March, in line with the acceleration of the growth of prices during the period. QQQ is down 1.97%, while SPY is down 1.63%.
- Personal spending posted a monthly increase of 1.1% in March, faster than the 0.6% in February but lower than the 2.0% in the first month of the year.
- Personal income for the month increased by 0.5%, slower than the 0.7% growth in February but faster than the 0.2% in January.
- Disposable personal income in current dollars increased by 0.5%, slower than the 0.7% recorded in February but higher than the 0.3% in January.
- The personal consumption expenditures price indexes posted a 6.6% annual increase, up from 6.3% in the previous month. Monthly growth was at 0.9% after 0.5% in February.
