US total inventories of merchant wholesalers were $790.8 billion at the end of December, an increase of 2.2% from the previous month. SPY is up +1.24%, DXY is down -0.20%.
- Inventories have now risen up by 18.5% from the comparable month of 2020.
- The wholesale inventories from November 2021 to December 2021 was revised up from an advanced estimate of 2.1% to 2.2%.
- The rise in inventory happened when the December 2021 merchant wholesalers’ sales rose by 0.2% from November. The sales are now 21.8% higher than December 2020.
- The inventories to sales ratio in December was posted at 1.25, compared to December 2020 ratio of 1.28.
