The UK posted an unemployment rate of 3.9% in the November to January quarter, down by 0.2 percentage points. FTSE 100 is down -1.36%, GBPUSD is up +0.33%.
- Following the decline in the unemployment rate, the employment rate improved by 0.1 percentage points to 75.6% in the November to January quarter.
- The economic inactivity rate rose by 0.1 percentage points to 21.3%.
- The increase in the average total pays, including bonuses, was recorded at 4.8% in the November to January quarter. Regular pay, excluding bonuses, rose by 3.8% in the same period.
- In the month of February 2022, payrolled employees rose by 275,000 to hit a record 29.7 million. The number of job vacancies in the December to February period increased to a record 1.318 million.
