The U.K. stock market experienced a decline on Tuesday, with the FTSE 100 Index finishing down 0.48% at 7,558.34.

Clothing Retailer JD Sports Fashion PLC Sees Largest Decrease

Among the FTSE 100 constituents, clothing retail company JD Sports Fashion PLC saw the largest decrease on Tuesday, as its shares declined by 5.25%.

Precious Metals Firm Fresnillo PLC and Real Estate Developers Company Rightmove PLC Also Decline

Shares of precious metals firm Fresnillo PLC and real estate developers company Rightmove PLC fell by 4.63% and 3.90% respectively.

Standard Chartered PLC and Barclays PLC Face Significant Decreases

Major international banks companies Standard Chartered PLC and Barclays PLC rounded out the top five largest decreases, with their stocks dropping by 2.61% and 2.47% respectively.

Shares of investment advisors firm abrdn PLC and pharmaceuticals company Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC increased by 2.14% and 1.91% respectively.

Compass Group PLC and Persimmon PLC Record Significant Increases

Compass Group PLC, a restaurants company, and residential building construction firm Persimmon PLC rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose by 1.37% and 1.24% respectively.

Pound Weakens Against Dollar, Strengthens Against Euro

The pound was down by 0.57% against the dollar at $1.2654 and up by 0.08% against the euro at €1.1631.

Brent Crude Increases, 10-Year Gilt Yield Falls

Brent crude increased by 0.8% to $78.77, while the yield on the 10-year gilt fell by 0.250 basis points to 3.801%.
