Severe Weather Warning Leads to Confirmed Tornado
The National Weather Service has reported that a tornado touched down near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport following severe weather warnings for the city. The tornado was confirmed to be on the ground around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, as stated by the National Weather Service in Chicago.
Seek Shelter in the Warned Area
According to the National Weather Service, the tornado has been intermittently touching the ground and is currently moving east. In addition, there are additional circulations along the line south of O’Hare. Therefore, if you are in the warned area, it is strongly advised to seek shelter.
Tornado Warnings and Sirens Across Chicago
On Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service issued two tornado warnings for different parts of the city. Tornado sirens were activated at least twice across Chicago, alerting residents to take cover. The sound of sirens reverberated throughout the city’s iconic skyline.

As he mentioned, being on the 60th floor of an apartment building limits his options for seeking shelter. However, he acknowledged the importance of going to the core of the building for safety.

News of the storm was a prominent feature in local media, increasing awareness and concern among residents. Despite the anxiety created by seeing everything on TV screens depicted in red, Becker expressed hope for minimal damage caused by the tornado.
