Swedbank, a leading Swedish lender, has announced the appointment of Anna-Karin Laurell as the new head of Swedish banking and Malin Lilliecrona as the head of a new business area focusing on premium and private banking customers.
In a strategic move, corporate customers currently managed by advisors in Swedish banking will be transferred to Swedbank’s corporates and institutions division.
Anna-Karin Laurell brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as the Chief Executive of sales and customer service in various industries including banking, insurance, telecommunications, and the auction market. Prior to her appointment at Swedbank, Laurell was the head of marketing and sales at insurer Folksam.
Malin Lilliecrona, currently the head of Swedbank’s wealth sales organization within Swedish banking, will transition to her new position alongside Laurell.
Both Laurell and Lilliecrona are expected to assume their respective roles no later than April 1, 2024, and they will become integral members of Swedbank’s group executive committee.
Mikael Bjorknert, the current head of Swedish banking, will transition to a senior advisory role upon the commencement of the new business-area managers’ tenure.
