The industrial producer prices increased by 5.2% in the euro area in January 2022 from December, and were up by 30.6% from the comparable month of 2021. DAX is down -0.22%, EURUSD is down -0.28%.
- In the EU, the producer prices increased by 4.9% and were up by 30.3% compared to January 2021.
- Producer prices rose the highest in the energy category, with a gain of 11.6% in the euro area and 10.7% in the EU. Excluding energy, producer prices rose by 2.2% in the euro area and 20% in the EU in January.
- The countries of Romania, Belgium, and Slovenia posted the largest monthly gains in industrial producer prices at 12.0%, 10.2%, and 8.7%, respectively. Ireland, Sweden, Luxembourg, and Finland recorded declines in producer prices at -11.4%, -0.7%, -0.3%, and -0.2%, respectively.
