New Residential House Sales in the US Fall by 4.5% In January

The US posted 801,000 sales of new single-family houses in January, on an annual basis, 4.5% below the December rate. SPY us down -1.46%, DXY is up +1.38%. 

• The house sales are now 19.3% below January 2021.
• The median sales price of the houses sold in January was at $423,300, while the average price reached $496,900.
• At the end of January, the estimate of new houses in the market was 406,000. The houses represented a supply of 6.1 month at the prevailing sales rate.
