Industrial production in September 2021 fell by 0.2% in the euro area and 0.5% in the EU from August. DAX is up +0.16%, EURUSD is up +0.02%.
- In the euro area, production of capital goods declined by 0.7% from August as intermediate goods saw a 0.2% drop, while production of energy remained unchanged. Durable consumer goods rose by 0.5%, while non-durable consumer goods were down by 1.0% in the same period.
- In the EU, capital goods production was down by 0.9% as intermediate goods remained stable. Durable consumer goods rose by 0.8% as energy, and non-durable consumer goods saw a 0.4% increase.
- Industrial production fell the most in Denmark, Czechia, and Austria from the August levels. The highest increases in industrial production were posted in Estonia, Lithuania, and Belgium.
- On a year over year basis, industrial production was still up by 5.2% and 5.0% in the euro area and EU, respectively.
