Investor confidence in the eurozone posted an improvement in June, but remained in negative territory for the fourth straight month. EZU is down 0.95%, while VGK is down 0.77%.
- The sentix Economic Index stood at -15.8 in June, reflecting a 7-point improvement from -22.6 in May.
- The latest reading is the first increase seen after the declines recorded in May, April, and May.
- The current situation index improved to -7.3 from -10.5 the previous month, while the expectations index stood at -24.0 from -34.0 in May.
- The figures indicate that the eurozone economy is still in a downturn, in line with trends seen in other overseas territories.
- Downturns were also seen in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the USA, Japan, and the global aggregate.
- Possible recessions were seen in Eastern Europe, Asia, excluding Japan, and Latin America.
