Consumer Confidence in the Euro Area Falls by 0.3 Points in February

Consumer confidence in the euro area posted another decline in February, with the gauge down by 0.3 points to -8.8 points. DAX is down -1.21%, EURUSD is down -0.23%.

• In the EU, the consumer confidence edged lower by 0.2 points to -10.2 points in February.
• The fall in consumer confidence happened amid a 1.4 points decline in the Economic Sentiment Indicator in the EU, which hit 111.6 in January. The indicator fell by 1.1 points to 112.7 in the euro area.
• The Employment Expectations Indicator also edged lower in January, down by 0.5 points to 113.1 in the EU and down 0.2 points to 113.3 in the euro area.
